Welcome to LaunchYear.co (“LaunchYear,” “we,” “us,” or “our”). These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of the LaunchYear.co website and any related services (collectively, the “Service”). By creating an account or otherwise using the Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

1. What LaunchYear Does

LaunchYear operates LaunchYear.co, a platform that connects gap year students with companies offering real work opportunities, internships, projects, and related experiences (“Opportunities”). LaunchYear is a connector, not an employer, staffing agency, or guarantor of any Opportunity. We do not employ students placed through the Service, and we are not a party to any agreement, offer, or arrangement between a student and a company.

2. Eligibility and Age Requirements

The Service is intended for high school students, gap year students, and companies offering Opportunities.

• Users under 18 years old may use the Service only with the involvement and consent of a parent or legal guardian, who agrees to these Terms on the minor's behalf and is responsible for the minor's use of the Service.
• By creating an account for a user under 18, the parent or guardian represents that they have authority to consent on the minor's behalf.
• Companies and other adult users must be at least 18 years old and capable of forming a binding contract.

3. Accounts

You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activity under your account. You agree to provide accurate, current information and to update it as needed. LaunchYear may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms.

4. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

• Provide false or misleading information in a profile, application, or Opportunity listing;
• Use the Service for any unlawful, discriminatory, or harassing purpose;
• Attempt to bypass the platform to circumvent fees or protections we may put in place;
• Scrape, copy, or misuse data from the Service;
• Interfere with the security or operation of the Service.

5. Opportunities and Company Listings

Companies are solely responsible for the accuracy of their listings, offers, and communications with students. LaunchYear does not verify, endorse, or guarantee any Opportunity, compensation, working conditions, or outcome. Students and parents/guardians are responsible for evaluating any Opportunity and for any agreement they enter into with a company, including safety, supervision, and legal work-eligibility considerations.

6. Intellectual Property

All content, trademarks, and technology that make up the Service (excluding user-submitted content) are owned by LaunchYear or its licensors. You may not copy, modify, distribute, or create derivative works from the Service without our written permission.

7. Third-Party Links and Services

The Service may link to or integrate with third-party websites or services (e.g., a company's own careers page). LaunchYear is not responsible for the content, policies, or practices of any third party.

8. Disclaimers

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE,” WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, OR NON-INFRINGEMENT. LAUNCHYEAR DOES NOT WARRANT THAT THE SERVICE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, ERROR-FREE, OR THAT ANY OPPORTUNITY WILL MEET YOUR EXPECTATIONS.

9. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, LAUNCHYEAR AND ITS OFFICERS, EMPLOYEES, AND AGENTS WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF PROFITS OR DATA, ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE OR ANY OPPORTUNITY, EVEN IF ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES.

10. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold LaunchYear harmless from any claims, damages, or expenses (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising from your use of the Service, your violation of these Terms, or your participation in any Opportunity.

We may suspend or terminate your access to the Service at any time, with or without notice, for conduct that violates these Terms or is otherwise harmful to other users or the Service.
